I've been saying it, we really got Wario World and VB Wario Land on Nintendo Classics before Wario Land 1.

Well, we finally got it.

The first Nintendo Classics update for July 2026 has arrived with a quartet of titles across Game Boy and Game Boy Advance. I only have things to say about two of them so if you're curious here's the other two I have nothing to say about:

Alright cool, I'm sure someone out there is incredibly happy and, darn it I'm happy for them, but I know nothing about these games so I have nothing to say about them. But hey, I won't say no to more of these neat obscure games I've never heard of on Nintendo Classics, as long as we continue getting the big stuff. Speaking of, that brings me to the other half of this batch.

It baffles me that it took this long for the first Wario Land game to arrive on Nintendo Classics, especially with the Game Boy app launching with Wario Land 3. We got Wario Land 4 a while back on GBA, and then in the last handful of months, we've gotten Wario World on GameCube and even freaking VB Wario Land on Virtual Boy, all before ever receiving either of the first two games. Well, at least now, we finally have half of them. And about time too. I've been wanting to play the Wario Land games, but have specifically been waiting for this one to drop so I can play them in order. Now, I do realize this means I have to wait even longer for Wario Land 2, and who knows how long Nintendo's gonna string me along regarding that. But for now, I can at least finally begin my Wario Land journey with the game that started it all.

Ahhh, one of my COVID era addictions returns. I'm not kidding when I say I was addicted to Panel de Pon when it first hit the SNES app back in 2020. It is by far my most played title in the entire Nintendo Classics lineup, and it's not even close. So, here's another version of it that also comes with a version of Dr. Mario. Granted, I don't think I'll be putting nearly as much time into this version of Puzzle League, as I simply don't have that kind of time anymore, but I'll definitely check it out. A solid addition, and hopefully we eventually get the Nintendo Puzzle Collection on GameCube... y'know, if they can figure out how to re-release Yoshi's Cookie, that is.

Overall, a solid batch of additions, and they're available to play right now. Hopefully this isn't the only update we get this month, as we could really use a new GameCube game coughcoughSuperMarioSunshinecoughcough.
