Folks, for the very last time I say to you, Happy Mario Kart World Music Monday!
I don't care that it's Wednesday, let me have this.
It's been a fun journey these past three months, but at long last, Mario Kart World's soundtrack on Nintendo Music is now complete, with 348 tracks totalling 14 hours and 15 minutes of incredible music.
And of course, what better way to end it all off than with the biggest individual playlist of them all, featuring all the remixes hailing from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

This Week's Additions
- Free Roam with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (26 tracks/1 hr 15 min)

8 Deluxe's Free Roam playlist is far and away the biggest one, which is no surprise considering every original track from base Mario Kart 8 (except Mario Kart Stadium for some reason) received at least one remix, with Sweet Sweet Canyon, Toad Harbor, Sunshine Airport, and Dolphin Shoals all getting two, in addition to the main theme, which also got two. Add on some of the original tracks from 8's DLC and Squeaky Clean Sprint, and you've got 26 remixes in total, adding up to over an hour of music. A pretty fitting finale to this journey!
But that's not all, as to celebrate the soundtracks completion, we got a pair of bonus tracks featuring slightly different renditions of the Title Theme and Crown City. These renditions come from a pair of videos showing studio recordings of the songs uploaded at the same time as this drop. They do mostly sound the same, but have minor differences. The Title Theme's harmonica intro is faster and leads directly into the rest of the song rather than having a small gap after the intro, and Crown City features its outro, which feels like a bit of a tease, honestly. I've always been a little disappointed that the music for World's tracks doesn't feature the outros used when approaching another track during a Knockout Tour. It's not a massive deal, but it would've been nice, but now that we have a version of Crown City with an outro, it just makes me want the other tracks to have it that much more.
Speaking of Knockout Tour, unfortunately, this final drop was not accompanied by an update bringing the next pair of Knockout Tours like I had predicted. It's a shame, I feel like it would've made a lot of sense, but oh well. They'll come in due time, but hopefully it won't be too much longer.
But with that, we're done here. Mario Kart World's soundtrack is complete... for now, at least until they release DLC, right? Right?!
It's bittersweet, as I'm gonna miss looking forward to the new drops every week, but I'm glad it's finally all here. Now it's just a question of what the Nintendo Music release schedule will look like going forwards. Will we go back to one update per week? And if so, will that update remain on Thursdays, or will it go back to Mondays like it used to be? Or, could they introduce a new soundtrack to do a gradual rollout of, like Smash Ultimate, for example? We should have our answers within the next week or so, but it'll be interesting to see what they do going forwards!
