I'd say Happy Mario Kart World Music Monday, but it is currently Sunday at the time of writing, and I am incredibly late to this. I've had a busy week. I promise I didn't put this off because I'm scared to admit I was wrong about Captain Toad Treasure Tracker... sigh
Folks, I was wrong about Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. I made a big deal about forgetting about it, only for the song was thinking of to be roped in with 3D World. Can't lie, that's a little embarassing, but at least I was right about 3D Land and World, yeah?
Feel free to make fun of me as much as you want.
ANYWAY.
This does mean that we are getting very, VERY close to the end of this journey. And by that, I mean we should be days away from having the complete Mario Kart World soundtrack on Nintendo Music. But before we get into that, let's discuss what got added this week.

This Week's Additions
- Free Roam with Super Mario 3D Land (4 tracks/12m)
- Free Roam with Super Mario 3D World (14 tracks (2 from Bowser's Fury)/37m)
As I predicted, 3D World and Bowser's Fury have been lumped together, though, interestingly, the playlist's title only mentions 3D World. The two Bowser's Fury songs do have "Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury" in parentheses, but the rest of the 3D World tracks only have "Super Mario 3D World". It makes sense, I just find it interesting. It begs the question, will we see the remixes from Mario Kart 8 labelled simply as "Mario Kart 8", or will it all fall under "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe". I'm gonna guess the latter, as I believe I remember remixes from 8 being labelled as "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" on the pause screen.
That aside, with 18 tracks totaling 49 minutes, this is a solid selection, with 3D World especially having some great remixes. Shifty Boo Mansion, Hisstocrat, Hands-On Hall, Piranha Creeper Creek, and Attack! Bowser’s Fury are probably my favorites of the bunch. Heck, I wasn’t even aware that Shifty Boo Mansion and Hands-On Hall even had remixes in World.
But, with that, as mentioned prior, we are nearing the end of this nearly three month journey. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed anticipating and trying to predict the next drop, and finding some new favorites each week, or finally getting tracks I’ve wanted on the app for a long time.
And, with how late I am getting this post out, we likely don’t have much longer to wait, as what should be the final playlist should be arriving tomorrow night. That, of course, being:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
This will likely be the largest individual Free Roam playlist, making it a fitting finale to World’s soundtrack rollout. At least, until they release DLC for the game, right? Right?!
I also still believe that the final drop could very well be accompanied by some kind of news for the game. Nothing massive, any big news would likely be saved for a Nintendo Direct next month, but I could see it being a good opportunity to put out the next pair of Knockout Tours in a new update. Either that, or it could be a good excuse to add Mario Kart World to Alarmo. With how they’ve been continuing to support Alarmo, with Mario Wonder and Bananza having been added this year already, I feel like Mario Kart World alarms being added are an inevitability. I think new Knockout Tours are more likely, if anything happens at all, but I wouldn’t rule either out.
Whatever happens, when we do get that last drop, I’ll be here to cover it. Hopefully in a much more… timely fashion than this past week… haha, sorry about that.
